Justice; What’s the right thing to do?

Ep 2

It talks about the risk of the utilitarianism.

J. Bentham addressed ‘ The greatest happiness of the greatest number.”  and Professor Sandel argues this theory connecting with the costs-benefits analysis, whose approach is from monetary value.

I disagree with this theory. First, it cannot be measured abstract value such as morality, especially value of life and freedom and right of individual and minority as discussed on the video.  Secondly, there wouldn’t exist absolute justice from the utilitarianism view. Even murder and theft can be justified from this philosophy.  As a result, it can be manipulated for the ruling power. For example, back to the history, Korean people were forced to scarified their rights. Developing country is the priory and there was not democracy.
