Educational video
– focus on one specific theme/ message
– network tv shot : 3.5 second (1987)/ probably 2 second (now)
Hence, one shot in educational video can be bored for the audience who get used to this trend
To make more interesting , it shouldn’t record just lecture
Different ways of using video in education
– Research : Micro teaching ( Book: Video research in the learning sciences)
-Event capture: lecture/seminar/ wedding (different
– Bespoke, Designed or Produced
– Student produced video
Activity: waching a video clip ( your guide to the library)
Finding a mistak
– shaking a camera: hard to notice but when you checked on a big screen, can see the small movement: using triple
– background noise: try to find a quiet time
– different sound level: listen to the voice level/ keep monitoring/ use microphone
– light:
– background music: inappropriate/ too dramatic/should match with image/ copyright / buy the music
– there is no information about the library: the purpose of video is hard to find from the clip
– transition: x too many special effects so please keep it simple ( just use 2 or 3 transition)
– fumbling narrative : rehearsal is important/ write a script”
Hence, bear in mind your viewer and rehearsal before taking a action (check camera shot)
